The Ford Probe that we build for the crap-can winter series, King of the Heap (seen here https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/king-of-the-heap/134972/page1/ ), has made the transition to HPDE and Time Trials racing.
Cody bought a set of Ground control coils on Tokico shocks from Swank Force One for next to nothing, and we found a giant rear sway bar for it too. I donated a set of new-ish Rivals from my E-street MR2 spyder. We got the goods on the car, gave it a proper alignment, cleaned it up by whole assing a bunch of stuff we half assed for KOTH, added a big mirror and a steering wheel adapter, then took the beast to the SCCA Time Trials primer at NCM. The car performed way over our expectations and we finished 11th overall for the event! We did have some problems with the ignition breaking up later in the day when the day was the hottest. Also, the ABS on this car isn't working, so it was really difficult to whoa the car down for T6 and T10. My priority before the Time Trials Nationals is to get the ABS working, get some track pads, and sort the ignition issue.
All things considered, we had a ball driving this thing and have roughly $1000 in it. Even after we add a seat/cage/harness it'll be around challenge budget.
