There's a new Batmobile patrolling the gritty streets of Gotham city, and it is one mean-looking machine.
Matt Reaves, producer for the newest film incarnation of the "Batman," teased us with a few pictures of the new Batmobile. We think it sort of looks like Torino and a Pantera had a baby, but what do you think?
Also, what sort of Batmobile would …

I loved the tumbler. That thing was so gnarly

If I had Bruce Wayne money? Jet turbine powered on the top end, electric on the low. Brabham Fan Car style system for all the downpounds all the time.
What does Bruce Wayne do with the old Batmobiles? I want the Tumbler.
My Batmobile mini-rant: Why was the jet engine used so often? You're in a congested urban environment.
This, like the Tumbler, makes sense. Personally, I'd love to see a Group B-like Batmobile: enough ground clearance for curbs, 0-60 in nothing flat, and just the right-sized footprint.
Or the tank from the Dark Knight Returns:
So...its the SRT Bat-Challenger?

I like it, can't wait to see it.
Jet turbine + electric is how I'd envision a future Batmobile. It'd sound like the Adam West or Keaton Batmobile then switch to all silent electric upon a crime scene.

This looks pretty cool. I'm in.
But to each their own.
This one looks a bit more plausible and less over the top absurd than most other recent Batmobiles. I like it taken on its own - but I'm not entirely sure it's a Batmobile.

And painted in VantaBlack (or whatever it is) for maximum stealth mode at night.
It looks like a mix of the prerunner and ice chargers from the fast and furious movies.
Let me guess, it'll get some sweet 22" rimz with low-profile tires and never get a flat jumping off highway overpasses......
IDK, of all the batmobiles the breacher one from Dark Knight seemed like the most useful, seeing as it had a bunch of weapons and armor and big tires and such.
If I'm Batman, I want a utilitarian, unbreakable, powerful Batmobile. Not what looks like a kit muscle car that's sure to be heaily snap-oversteery with a huge engine sitting behind the rear axle like that........I'd also have some kind of armored cover over my engine, so some random baddie with an AK can't just shoot a hole in my valve cover or coolant hose......
When i want to drive something cool-looking with a giant engine showing behind the seats, I can do that in my Bruce Wayne suit with a supermodel in the passenger seat ;)
And if we're talking Batmobiles, we need to discuss Sean Murphy. Check out his site and Twitter. The dude is also totally one of us.
And Vernon Reid (yes, that Vernon Reid) is playing along, too.
Chuck Jordan proposed this for the 60s Batman tv show
Taking David's thoughts of a Group B Batmobile, how about a Local Motors Rally Fighter? It doesn't look like it needs very much work to look the part, and curbs and crumbling pavement won't get in its way.
A Buell Lightning CityX looks like it's just a few bat-symbols away from being ready for Bruce Wayne to ride. A small bike with enough ground clearance to hop over curbs would be good for getting Batman through Gotham City in a real hurry.
Looks like a big body Javelin quarter panel...

To me, the Batmobile needs to be somewhat stealthy. Maybe an EV with battery power for low-speed "quiet" running and then with a turbine providing additional power when speed is required more than stealth.
Of course, applying real world logic to superhero movies is kinda silly... so the more over-the-top, the better.

I see some Javelin in the front fenders too, although maybe a little exaggerated.
And then there was the cool offroad trophy truck-ish '71-'73 Javelin in Bumblebee.
We are now in The Age Of The Javelin.

It also matches Batman's modus operandi. He relies on equal parts of stealth and intimidation. EV for stealth, turbine roar when he wants people to know he's coming.
It's more mid engine interceptor then batmobile in my opinion
Wait a minute, the actor from the dumb Twilight movies is the new Batman?!? Who in god's name made that decision.

Somebody who wanted to cast an awesome Batman, that's who. Yeah the Twilight stuff was lame, but Pattinson's got the goods. Go watch Good Time and The Lighthouse then get back to me.
I'm willing to give Pattinson a fair shot after Ben Affleck ..

Looks like a 1st gen F-body and a Plymouth GTX had a baby.
Considering Batman started in 1939 and if I had Bruce Wayne money, the Batmobile would have been one of the following:
Auburn Cabin Speedster:
Pierce-Arrow Silver Arrow:
Retractable hardtop Auburn Coupe (Parked behind the Cabin Speedster in the above photo):
Or a Packard 900 with Woodlite headlights:
