The dude we sold the Phostiva to contacted us last week asking
if we were interested in buying it back. I met up with him last night
and traded my DRZ400 for it and was giggling
like a schoolgirl all the way home. He had an
exhaust put on it and got it registered and inspected so it's 100%
legal, kind of scary actually. Needs a few things fixed but
it's still running just as good as when we sold it.
I'm getting married in October, which is actually why I was selling the DRZ because we needed some wedding $$, but I'm considering making the trek to Gainesville again if I can find a few crazy people to make the trek with me again, might even try for the longest drive in a challenge car award :)
1/4 mile tracks are faster when you avoid the imaginary slalom.

Hah yes they are. Hopefully I can get the staged boost control working better, although that doesn't help when you spin 'em in 4th... Sure does make entrance ramps fun though

Itll help if you turn all the stages down
Glad to hear you got that thing back.. I really wanted to line up with the Aries with equivalent traction when we were both there, but my street tires werent cutting it and somebody broke my shift cable minutes before i bolted on slicks..

What's the fun in that?? Actually I drove it on WG pressure (~8psi) last night and it was alot of fun, much more manageable than the 15psi it was set at before...
Wanted to line up with you guys too, that would have been fun :)

I had seen the word phostiva before, but never really new what the reference was. Very cool car!

I hope you can make it, I would love to see this in person. I think I am in the running for longest drive in award at over 1,200 miles but nothing is certain at this point.

Aaaaahhhh damnit. Now I HAVE to get the rusteevuh done so we can do the whole dueling banjos thing.
Does it still dispense delicious beer?
This was one of the most fun cars to watch at the Challenge last year. It was either lifting wheels on the autocross course, squiggling it's way down the quarter mile, or dishing out beer to people. Bring it back!!!

Don't make me bring Truckstiva to the Challenge...

FESTIVA PARTY! Definitely need to see this truckstiva as well as the chopped rustiva!
The beer dispensing setup has been sold but we've got some other ideas :)
Just google "truckstiva," it's my 15 minutes of internet fame.
If we have some room for it on the trailer, I might have to bring it. It's got a flat, though, and I don't know where to find any 12" tires...
what kinda engine is in this? b6t?

Pretty sure Phostiva dudes did a turbo'd BP, which was also our initial plan, until we recently scored a 323GT.

Hah that video is awesome, I didn't realize Festivas were so capable offroad :)
And yep, it's a turboed BP
You FWD guys with no traction should take a tip from people who live where it's icy and have to climb hills: run it backwards. Then the weight transfer is your friend. And it would be so much fun to watch.
I have a set of 12" Yoko A032 tires that are dismounted and just sitting in my garage. A few years old (like, 8 or so) but a bit of that magic rubber softening goo and I'll bet they'd be fun.
I'll be honest, getting Truckstiva to the Challenge is pretty low on my priority list (is there a sub-$50 category?), and it will in no way, shape or form pass any kind of tech inspection. (no roof, windshield, hood, questionable brakes, questionable seatbelts, etc) I'd be happy to run it in an exhibition category, though, just for the lulz.

Do you still have the BP you pulled out of that Scrote GT? My sister in law exploded the head gasket in my Protege, and the cost for a head gasket set+machine work+ new valve seals installed is ri-goddamn-diculous.
