R6's don't work too well in an autocross, they are more for track use. 27 psi seems low. The Hoosier web site has the reccomended pressures by car weight. Also The Tire Rack under care and feeding.

I run them at 36-37 hot for a 2400lb car as Hoosier says to in the care and feeding instruction manual for the tire. I have no idea how you get them hot in a parking lot before a run though... it takes me 2 laps around a road course before they are up to temps.

Mayhap you should be running the softer A6's?

This is a 2011 challenge car and the R6's are what fit the budget so I have to make them stick as best as possible. The car weighs 3000.Changing tires right now are not an option.

Well, I'd start them at 36 (1-2psi less than target for your weight as per the link above).

Do you know how many heat cycles they have on them? This is a tire that is like a miracle glue for the 1st 20 and then like ice. You can try some tire softener to see if you can get a little more life out of them...

for cheaper tire softener, use odorless mineral spirits.

What if I want my tires to have a fresh piney scent?
