Ben Collins, reportedly one of the drivers portraying "The Stig" on Top Gear, can't autocross worth a damn:
Talk about sloppy.

plenty of good roadracers find that their skills don't translate to autoX, even though some consider it a "lower" form of motorsports. but autoXers generally seem to be able to pretty competently hop onto a track.
LOL @ the youtube commenters whining that the Stig should have done this test instead. And yeah, that was a really appalling run through a slalom, I would have figured any pro would be more competent than that.
I watched last year as a Mitsu Factory Rally driver in a new Evo got his ass handed to him by an 85 MR2. Over and over the pro driver went out and tried to beat the MR2 (stock motor) on a really wide open course...and he couldn't
Different skill set
Yesterday, I saw three guys wearing shirts that said "I am The Stig".
The first one (twelve year old kid) was kind of funny. The second and third, not so much.

I take offense

Randy Pobst and Jason Saini are good examples to make your point.

That's 'cause they were being peddled about 3 booths down from the plush & well lit display of Classic Motorsports. Some nice British car tee shirts in there too, but you already knew that....

Incidentally, who was that manning the CM booth?
In reply to Woody:
Off Topic - I was there for Friday practice only, and I think it was Gary. Submitted a request for more TRV content in CMS, checked out the Group 44 GT6 and grabbed a couple of back issues. Good stuff.
I wish y'all would quit putting down the Stig. He's my sister's roomate in England, and it really hurts his feelings when people mess with him like this. He drives well, but sucks at Canasta and Poker. Just a regular guy.

I thought your sister was living with Manchester United...
