I've made some corrections to your statement.

Here's some clean but unpolished slots I used to run on my Mustang.

These are even worse in the version with the little square grid all over the center portion.

And I really hated GM's obsession with putting the car's option list all over the exterior. I can't find any pictures, but I hated the early-mid '90s cars that literally said "A-B-S Antilock Braking System" cast into the wheel.

Guilty, I have those wheels on my 1967 Bug project, previous owner had all four drums custom drilled for 4x108. why lord? why? Now I am stuck with them until I have all new brakes drilled for the pattern of my choice. I am thinking 4x100 so all my other wheels will interchange.

So, what makes a wheel "look" OEM? For whatever reason, they are usually very easy to spot. Is it chunky designs? Small diameter for the era?

In most cases, I prefer a well designed OEM wheel that looks appropriate for a car over a tuner look.

There was apparently some purpose behind these regarding drawing air into the brakes or something, doesn't matter still an ugly rim to put on an M5.

I always liked that style of BMW wheel. I also like the center of those MX-5 steelies. Agreed on the Cragar's looking right on the right car, like early AMX's, or older Ford trucks, like so;

Prior to this, he was asking about having his style bar powdercoated yellow to match the car. "Interesting" dude. So similar to this: smh
