A time capsule 36K mile 1972 AMC Hornet Sportabout...
Gucci Edition!
Yes, really, that Gucci. AMC started the whole cars & designers thing. If I was filthy rich I'd own the matched set (Cardin Javelin, Cassini Matador, Levi Gremlin, etc).

That's some kind of 70s interior! I'd be afraid of getting something on my suede pants or platforms.
I remember when they were plentiful I had such disdain for AMC then. I have such regard for them now. Stupid 20-20 hindsight,

70's? They were the best! Playmate Patti McGuire and a Dodge, Life does not get any better! Mom never found my Patti centerfold on the back of my bedroom door....I think?

You know, I had a poster just like that up on my bedroom door when I was in high school!
OK, I'm old. I have owned 2 of the cars pictured. A 1970 Boss 302 that I bought while in High School. Then I went into the AZ Dept of Public Safety and made almost no money. I sold the Boss and bought a Green AMC Wagon, from my Grandparents. Talk about a step down.

Now it has a mysterious hardened yellowish-white film over it. Putting. Yeah. Putting. Vaniller.

My neighbors had a Gucci Sportabout exactly like that in the mid-'70s. I knew what Javelin was positing even before I saw the interior shot. My girlfriend had a '74 non-Gucci (luckily) Sportabout sport edition (or whatever came with the AMC rally wheels) in the early '80s.
I'm failing utterly to find anything to hold them in regard about, then or now.

I like the size. I like the styling. I like the overall quirkiness of AMC. I think you could make a cool resto-rod out of one.
