I don't recall if there was a corral for them in 2010, but there was a gathering of Challenge cars. Actually finally met the Hongs because my campsite was within 100ft. of the Sooperturd, and I just walked over to say hello. I do recall Peter Brock judging an engineering award for Challenge cars, it went to Kevin's (kcbhiw) AWD Tracer.

And on 93EX's comment about food vendors: I didn't make a scientific study, but it seemed like Karl was doing pretty well because he'd stay open when the others had closed. Of course (like poop said), it didn't hurt that K&M's food was Track Food Crack. Except for a slice of pizza at the Mazda party, I didn't eat anything else but their fish tacos for three days.
We have such a blast feeding the fine fine people that attend each years Mitty !
This foto is not ours Thanks for posting !

Kinda late responding to this Tim, but here goes.
Overall it was awesome, as always. Seemed to be a slightly better turnout this year. I'm going to guess from the focus on Triumph. You guys run a pretty damn good event, with plenty to do. So much in fact, that even though we camped for three days I wished I had more time to spend talking to a couple of vendors (DIYautotune especially - catch you next time MadScientestMatt), ogling cars, and photographing the pits. I can't really complain though, because instead I was driving someone else's brand new Miata around cones, doing touring laps, watching a bunch of cool racing, and getting sloshed with forum buddies.
Speaking of touring laps, I thought they were run almost as good as they could be, given the circumstances. Despite my bitching about the slow Mercedes in front of me, I had a great time. I realize it ain't a track day/hpde event, but it definitely wetted my appetite to do one. The one criticism I have is that none of the event staff I talked to had any idea where grid up. One guy sent us on a wild goose chase in the outfield pits, but once we figured out where we needed to be we were stuck in a big-and-taking-forever traffic jam due to letting all the Triumphs out for the parade lap. It had me somewhat stressed about getting there in time, but luckily things were behind schedule and all was good.
I'd also like to see more vendors. I have no idea if it's a cost vs. interest thing, but the more the merrier in my opinion. It also seems like a good place for a swap meet of sorts, but I'm not sure what that entails either. There seems to be room at the back of the vendor row parking lot.
The worst thing about the whole weekend was the heat. Not exactly under human control, but Friedgreencorrado brought up a good point while we were hanging at the camp site - it always seems to be a LOT cooler just a couple weeks before the Mitty. I realize things have to slot into Road Atlanta's schedule though.
On a random side note - I like the free mags at the entrance. Even though I'm a subscriber and have those issues anyway I always pass them off to friends I think might be interested. I had to go in and out a few times on Sat morning due to failing battery in the MR2 and got greedy. They all ended up in the hands of 3 future subscribers though.
Oh, and the forum turnout is always cool. We just happened to land our campsite beside Friedgreencorrado on the esses, plus we got to hang with Karl, Marie, Poop, Clownkiller, Aussiesmg & his wife. You just never know who you'll run into randomly. A good time was had by all.
Also - the K&M tacos are THE SHIZNIT!!!

REALLY REALLY BAD. Like, it made me uncomfortable bad. I was really looking forward to seeing Wes Cobb again. I understand it's all cover tunes, but that dude is really entertaining. If we're just drinking and hanging with background music, I can do that at my own tent, with my own beer, and a radio. One reporter's opinion. I wouldn't have said anything publicly if you hadn't asked. That's my only complaint, and I suppose it's probably an insignificant one. Again, I really love this event. I look forward to it every year!!! Thanks GRM!
+1
Bring back Wes. That dude rocked out. This years guy was fine, but I could go to any mexican restaurant / bar and grill on a Friday night and see 100 others just like him.

Being a vendor, I didn't have a chance to catch too much of the racing, but what there was there was great. It was still fun even if for me there was a lot of work to it. We've been thinking about what DIYAutoTune's booth will be like next year; it's likely that this will be a bit different.
Next year I will be bringing something vintage myself. Probably the Dart; my backup plan is a '72 Chevy pickup.
I miss Wes Cobb, but I heard the story there. Or at least part of the story.
The parties might be better if Karl, Maria, and the Jarrito Burrito crew catered them. It was good to see something more than bar nibbles at the Saturday party, though. I don't recall Saturday's party having very much food last year. Although maybe I'd just showed up too late. Heard a few complaints about the food at Friday's party, but I wasn't there myself.
To the guys at Acadiana Sports Car Orphanage, it was good to see you guys and I regret missing out on the gator.
Thanks to all that came! It was a ton of fun as usual, and it is always great to catch up with the hoodlums err... I mean readers that come out!
Maybe we can create a "parade- touring" staging map to hand out at the booth. We push so many cars through those laps, anything we can do to alleviate frustration, or miscommunication would be a good thing.
Thanks again for making the Mitty so much fun.
and for you Wes Cobb fans, here's how to keep up to date with what he has going on---- he's a busy guy! https://www.facebook.com/pages/Wes-Cobb-Music/276508279029541?ref=ts
Oh, and I forgot to mention, Chuck Beck is one of my new favorite people. We talked for what seemed like hours, 'till he very politely excused himself 'cuz his dogs were yappin...then talked to us for another half hour or so. Very cool. This is one of a very small handful of "Must attend" events for me year after year.
