My point is and has always been that this forum is great. It's honest, intelligent, open to new ideas; all of that and more. That is until someone brings up something sociopolitical. Then it is the exact opposite. That is exactly what I find ironic. And I don't reminding people, because honestly I find the dishonesty of it completely offensive. So, yes I in fact agree, it would be 100% better if the forum stayed exclusively automotive related. That would prevent me pointing this out sending some of you into spats of discontent. If it continues, I will continue to point it out. I hate that everything in the world has turned political. The forum stops first, and I'm happy to do the same. As long as people here continue to take political positions on subjects which are shown to be false in many cases, I will continue to point out the contrast and irony of it.
So my comment is about the entire forum and it's entire group of members. The irony is the difference between any automotive related post and any social or political topic that is brought up. One will revolve around evidence, what we know, use logic, sometimes include math, timelines, data, and other facts. The other will look like the jump to conclusions mat scene in Office Space. Whenever the live roleplay version of Idiocracy 2 kicks off (sociopolitical topics), I'm going to make fun of it until I'm banned permanently or dead. No one is going to prevent me from poking fun or laughing at irony. Don't believe me, ask my very kind hearted, sweet, social butterfly, trying to save the world from itself wife.
The world would be a better place if they started every issue from the position of "what do we actually know." The sad fact is the world does not do that, and it's deteriorating. When I see seemingly intelligent people fall into that trap, I'm going to point it out. If you can be critical and analytical about information pertaining to cars, you can do it with all information. It would make this forum an even better place. It would also make your home, neighborhood and community a better place.
That's a lot of words, basically saying "the forum rules apply to everyone but me."
And you seem to think that's ok.

I'm honestly trying to find the line he is drawing between my post and sociopolitical statements.
