I am carless with $4k bouncing around in the car fund, and since I am looking to consolidate down to one vehicle I'd like it to be a wagon that isn't absolute crap to drive. This Mazda 6 wagon showed up today:

It's automatic. With 222k, is it a time bomb ready to blow? If I could get him down to $3k, would this be worth it? I know these are timing chain engines, but 222k is a lot...given I've had BMWs with a lot more than that but Mazda is a whole different animal. What do you guys think?

I've never been in a 6 with an automatic, but I will say that I liked the manual 4 and 6 cylinder versions that I've driven.

For similar money, I found these great wagons for sale near you:

Those are all neat but the idea is to end up in a '00 or newer so I can do Lyft or UberX with it. If I'm just buying something to get around in I'll get another E36 M3ty old $900 Subaru!
