probably the most famous would be Plexiglas... at one time it was a brand name ... that's why so many companies are so vigilant and so ass-holy about the use of their named product to refer to someone else's product .... the bar where I worked served pepsi products ... if someone asked for a rum and coke we were required to ask if pepsi was ok ... we didn't, but the Coke lawyers could have sued us
