When I look at that, part of me wants to barf. That confused me at first. But when I sat down and thought about it, the barfy part actually loves that car so much that it cannot process the awesome fast enough...kinda like too much tequilla - a win on many levels, but so much win, that you gotta barf.
After the part of me that liked it so much it barfed was done barfing, it kicked the crap outta the 2% that was left that didnt like it enough to barf, and then went and ate a grilled cheese sandwich...because grilled cheese sandwiches > everything else
It is pretty awesome. However, did anyone notice that he said that the head is off due to bent valves. IE this is a roller. It probably would be fairly easy to fix but still thought is should be mentioned.
I recall somewhere over in Europe theres a bunch of 944 pick ups that were made to get around high tax on "Sports Cars" Sweden i think.
why did they go with the S38 when the S54 from the E46 m3 would have been a better fit?
I have thought of doing this.. I really have.
Reminds me a bit of Eljemino.
One of my local hillclimb/autocross friends. Started life as a Jetta. Now a caged "truck" with a 1.8t. He's still working on the aesthetics while racing it. The thing is quick.
Umm... did any of you guys read through the build thread?
it's a neat idea... but would I buy this particular contraption? Hell to the no...
Biggest problem I've seen is that is has a hacked-up DIY engine AND body harness. That's enough of a PITA on my Samurai, I'd hate to suffer through that on a car that isn't so simple.

Friends project... Started with a VW quantum syncro wagon...
Not up to speed on Audi motors, but its getting a 5cyl DOHC turbo stuffed in there that will make something like 400 AWD hp. Going to be set up to handle as well.
Can't wait to see it on the road!
