Wow! That is amazing!! While not box flares, those flares definitely made it awesome!
Find yourself ( Good luck !!) a solid Chevette and the Isuzu that used that body shell here, and replicate it. Euro rally suspension and a Honda K-swap would make it really entertaining.

That platform was used in North and South America, Europe and Asia. You can swap front end sheet metal, doors and windshield between Chevettes, Vauxhalls, Opels and Isuzus. I've seen an American Chevette with the front sheet metal of a Buick Opel (really an Isuzu) bolted on, for example.
