I guess if half of all spridgets have been crushed, that works out to about average.

Honestly though, it really looks like it might just need a front clip, steering wheel, and windshield. The inner fender doesn't appear messed up on either side, and the front wheels appear to be in the right place, so It probably could be fixed for dirt cheap. If it wasn't full of rust and ran/drove good, it would be a great deal if it went for not a lot of money.

Agreed. A front clip and a decent matching paint job and it'd be a fun little toy to knock around town in.

that car is probably older than the guy who wrote the ad... how can he claim the interior has "never been smoked in"?

Considering it has no top, never smoked in doesn't make a lot of difference. It's like saying your driveway has never been smoked on.

The pics with the nose off look pretty clean. Cood be a good candidate for an Arkley conversion, too.

A bugeye front clip (original or repro 'glass) will bolt right up, giving you about 80% of the bugeye look. the rear is a bit different, though. The spridget is squarer and has a trunk. That's harder to change.

I don't see any rust. I'd say that's well above average.

As for the interior never smoked in....Well...maybe not since recovering as they didn't come with velour diamond pleat. Classic 70's upholstory. And the front sub frame is probably damaged which is probably why he is giving up on it. Asking wa-a-ay too much for what it is. could use the parts for my Mark I Midget though.

It doesn't look like either of the doors will close properly.

How badly do you want a Bugeye? I've come to realize mine may be better off somewhere else.
