With a blown auto transmission...
worth while project? body looks solid.
Could it be a decent cruiser with a v8 swap? or can the 232 take a little forced induction?

Barney Navarro built a turbocharged Rambler 6 and ran it at Indy in the 1960s: http://wps.com/AMC/Navarro-turbo-motor/index.html
The Ranbler 232 & 258 I-6 are good solid engines. Parts from the Jeep 4.0L will interchange since they are the same engine. So Fuel Injection can be retrofitted.
It's an ancestor of the Jeep 4.0 and a pretty tough motor, so a turbo setup would work pretty well if you're doing a little fabrication.
Buy the Rambler. Then, buy this. Remove 4.0 and 2wd auto trans. from Jeep and install in Rambler. Sell the rest.

needs moar h-pattern!
Grab a 258 and a 4.0 and put them together to build a 4.6L I-6! Also, the 1981 Turbo AMX PPG Indy Pace Car was a 258 Turbo. My grandfather bought it from Dick Teague and owned it for a few decades. I've ridden in the passenger seat of that thing at 160+ on the banks of Daytona, it was a freaking MONSTER!
