A what what now?

good choice.

Flexxy is fixed. Took some RTV where it shouldn't be, but whatever.

well since OP has found the solution, I'm kind of lurking in the same boat. Must share a family hauler with the wife who is convinced she can't drive something as big as a minivan let alone a tahoe. Mazda 5 is just a bit too short and gutless, and every example is rusted to hell here. Can you talk about your ownership with the Flex? Air your list of grievances?

I don't know what's going on in here, but the XC90 is just a P2 Volvo. DIY friendly, and the V8s are fine so long as you don't wash the engine.

Should this itch arise once again, just watch FCP Euro's great P2 maintenance videos.

A Flex isn’t really any smaller to drive than a minivan, fwiw. It’s kind of like driving a boxy minivan without sliding doors.

Low miles, 3 row, Shorter than a 'Burb, stone simple drivetrain

Sell the camping stuff to some overlander/van life type to recoup $

That's not bad, but I'd ditch the camper crap.

For future reference as answered in the other thread, the answer was to fix the Flex:

A Flex is exactly as big as a minivan. On the outside, anyway...

It's just as big inside as well. I do wish it had sliding doors, but that is literally the only drawback.

I have a flex ecoboost with the tow package.  We picked it up because it was the only thing on the market that drove like a car, towed a lightweight trailer, and gave me enough room in the second row.

Sigmificant problems are power takeoff unit failures, a >$1k water pump replacement, and a water pump failure mode that pumps water into the cylinders.  I also would have preferred sliding doors and I would love swedish/german seats.  It is awfully close to the explorer and you will be able to find more reliability info there.

I know what pto’s were on trucks, but I assume that’s something else... what’s a power takeoff unit?

try using that type of logic with the spousal unit. She used to have a 2nd gen prius but we got rid of that and now she's driving my lexus IS which she claims drives exactly the same. I guess the worse sightlines don't matter to her anyways because she crunches my lip into the curbs regardless.
