Out driving today and I have a new CEL code.

  1. 02 sensor problem (oxygen sensor), upstream or downstream

In the past I have had issues with my fuel pump fuse, which is the same circut as IIRC the o2 sensor/heater.

Any advice onreplacing the o2 sensor on a first gen neon? Certain brands to avoid? Let the shop deal with it?

New problem, Go to start my car to go home after work and it wouldn't idle. I had to keep my foot on the gass and the revs up or it would stall. It stayed like this till long after the car was warmed up and on the go. Could this be linked to an O2 sensor problem?

Replacing the upper O2 wasn't a memorable experience on the 95 dohc & 96 sohc that I had, so it went decently well. The only pain was getting the stock airbox back onto the head.

The idling issue's I had on the 96 sohc were related to the idle air control solonoid/throttle position sensor, cleaning them helped, but ended up replacing with junk yard sourced sensors for the fix.
