On friday a friend of the family called to tell me that he was selling his 2002 bmw 330i. He is the original owner and it was his wife's car.
203k miles. 5 spd auto, sport package. all records. Radiator, water pump, vanos seals, lower control arms, new tires, every item requiring repair on these cars done in the last year. Over $3k in repairs. (i.e. when he changed the rear main seal. he replaced the torque converter with a new unit from BMW because in his words "they leak occasionally and I was in there").
My truck with 17k miles has more dings on it than this car.
We paid the $ he was asking, a bit high for the miles but the car is in PERFECT condition. (hint the magazine number hits it.)

Nice. Although you had me confused with 2002, I was thinking the predecessor to the 3 series.
Best seats ever. Sounds like one that was properly cared for.
Congrats on the purchase.
More pictures!
I'm currently shopping for an E46 myself.
Congrats on your purchase! I love my E46 and yes, the seats are comfy!
FYI, he was selling it after putting all the repairs in so his wife could drive it another 100k miles because he saw a 340i for sale and bought it for his wife. ... lol.
Congrats.
You're all going to hate this, but a little while back a friend decided to sell his rear-drive, non-sunroof, five-speed E46 wagon--for less than $5000! I had just added another car to the fleet, so I passed.
We're both still kicking ourselves over that one.
A co-worker has a 2003 540i he has been threatening to sell and has done most of the major repairs in the past two years. Manual, no sunroof, etc...
