Timing belt is key to good Maintenance?

Very interesting, considering there is no timing belt or cam gears or valvetrain...

Maybe if they had timing belts, they'd be more reliable?

He didn't change the piston rings or valve stem seals? Amateur

Maybe the dealership sold him a timing belt job.

Maybe he is confused between timing belt and accessory belt?

I can't believe he changed the timing belt and didn't do the cam seals.

Thats my guess to but I'm giving him the benefit out the doubt.

Also an exhaust like that with no fuel mods and he will be selling the vehicle with underhood as stock scares me.

Chassis looks good though lol. I just don't have FD money laying around though...

I have emailed asking what engine has been swapped in as rotrary engines do not require a timing belt. I will share the response.

This is the reply that i recieved.

No swap, ad says the engine was rebuilt, and the drive belt was changed

I did not see a reference to a rebuild in the ad, do any of you?

no but I don't trust this seller one bit. I would offer him 7k as since it will be stock under the hood and stock wheels but I'm not confident in his mechanical abilities because I am absolutely NOT confident in posting abilities/knowledge.

There's one in New England with an LS1 swap for that price...

I actually emailed the guy and he got back to me. He realises his mistake. Sounded like a good dude. I complemented him on the color and wheel choice as well. That is a real nice looking car.
