Few weeks ago, bought a 99 Miata (Base) from a mechanic buddy.
I have a whopping $750 into it now, total
(Including plates, tabs, radiator, new battery, and a pair of belts, plus threw the 'old' daisies/star specs from my NA on her)
I'm thinking I should sit on it over the winter rather than scramble to sell it now?
I've got room for it in the ol' driveway, she's safe and out of the way.
wait till spring.. best time to sell a convertible or roadster
I'll give you $650 so you're not tripping over it all winter.![](/media/img/icons/smilies/laugh-18.png)
where are you located? I could make it worth your while to sell now (and I wouldn't be offering $651 either)
In reply to captdownshift:
NW WA, just South of the Canuckistani border
wrong side of the world for me
(which is of course the rust free part of the world)
In reply to Gearheadotaku:
Driving to the Challenge would cost more in gas alone than I'd make from selling it afterwards.
I'm pretty close to as far away as is possible while remaining in the US proper.
Plus, road tripping in a miata is the worst.
Agreed. Spring + tax season = best bet.
why are plane tickets so expensive? this sounds like a perfect fly and drive vacation...
Am I the only one that opened this thread thinking it had to do with ignition timing.
Go take it to a local Wintercross or ice race. Then sell it after winter.
Too bad there is no such thing as Wintercross or ice racing around here.
Trying to avoid the temptation to set it up for stock class autocross, I've gotten the impression that it'd be more competitive there than my NA is in STR.
Crap, now I have all winter to put off vacuuming out all the animal hair.
