I am shopping for new tires for my 2000 Camaro SS. I never drive in the snow, rarely in the rain and I average about 4000 miles per year. I sometimes drive on fair weather days in the winter so cold weather performance is important.

Anyone have suggestions based on your experience ?

I suggest round and preferably black. Although there could be some white on them.

I have Sumitomo HTR-Z IIIs on the P71 and love them. Outstanding tires for the price of admission.

I've run these Sumitomos on a number of vehicles. There's is a great smiles to dollars ratio here.

Can't argue with that logic. They work great on the goat.

I used up a set of those HTR-Z IIIs and also thought, not bad at all for the money. They were okay-ish on cold dry pavement. I made sure I never tried them on cold wet pavement.

Also, they ain't cheap but they're great: Pilot Super Sports. They're actually okay-ish on cold wet pavement (or it's at least possible to get home if you get caught out). Really great handling, better than the HTR-Z IIIs. But it's an expensive step up.
