I'm a procrastinator, bad. My car's alignment has been screwy and ate both my of right side tires (shame on me, I know)
I'm going to get it aligned next week, but now I need four new tires. My question to the peanut gallery is this, what do you recommend?
I've got an 01 Sentra SE. Factory sized tires are 195/50/16, but those are a bit pricey. I went to a 205 and was happy with that. The car is entirely DD, with the exception of some spirited driving every now and again.
The tires comming off are Kuhmo Ecsta AST's that I got from Tire Rack last April, and I'd like to get something similar in performance, but not break the bank.
Suggestions?
Falken ZE-912s are a little cheaper than Kumho AST and they have been well reviewed at GRM and elsewhere. I have some in 225/50/15 that I am happy with for my DD.
+1 for the 912's. They won GRM's cheap tire-comparo.

+1 on the 912s - they make pretty good daily driver tires, and have enough grip for most of the fun stuff. (mine get chewed up a bit at autox though)
I don't think it will be hard to improve upon the AST, which is a sort of bottom of the barrel performance tire imho. The Kumho ASX is supposed to be quite a bit better, but I haven't tried them myself. They probably won't be as cheap as the Falken 912 or 512 though. I would read some of the performance all-season comparison tests on Tirerack.com if you haven't already. I just wish they carried Falkens. Gotta go to discounttiredirect.com for those.
That said, I usually prefer summer tires instead of all-seasons. The 300-ish treadware category has treated me well with tires like the Yoko S-drive and Kumho SPT. I can get away with that in Atlanta though (year round). Not sure what kind of weather you deal with in Kentucky.
