I was searching for some track wheels for my car. I was going to go with one of the trendy hip wheels all the stance guys run that generally look like a great 5 spoke wheel replicated from a rally car they sponsor. I couldn't get a hold of their customer service via phone or e-mail. I sure enough got a hold of someone via social media but they only referred me to the contacts I had tried already. 2 weeks went by with nothing. Called tire rack up got my tires and wheels (RPF1s) here in less than 24 hours mounted and balanced. Why is it so hard to provide decent customer service? Shipping aside, why is it so hard to pick up the phone or reply to an e-mail for a potential sale? I saved money and got a lighter wheel but E36 M3.

Once I was in South Bend for work and got tires put on my own rims.

I drove the parking lot and was impressed by the cars. These guys are true enthusiasts.

Lack of staff. It's the same everywhere. People can't find jobs because owners don't have the budget for four people to answer phones so they heap it on one person. Therefore, no replies.

Even heaping on one person, they must be really, really busy to not even reply to a potential sale in two weeks.

Some of them might be garage shops, i.e., one guy who handles everything and drop ships instead of holding inventory.

Yep. I have learned that even if tirerack is not the absolute cheapest there is value to there service and the helpful people on the phone when needed. Makes them the bed "deal" in my book.

I've been to the South Bend location, they are BUSY down there. Took like 2 hours to get two sets of preordered tires mounted and balanced, not sure if that was some sort of snow tire rush issue (it was fall) or what, but that day they really needed about 3 more tire machines, balancers, and people operating them. It looked like they were filling online orders and in person orders on the same line. Other than that they are great though.

Both times I've ordered online from TR they've contacted me the next day to say that what was listed as 'in stock' was in fact very, very backordered.
(More than a month out, no more specific than that)

Moral of the story: call them.
Or order elsewhere like I've ended up doing.
