I just installed the set of RS2s from the Celica on the MX6 yesterday. They have flatspots from sitting.
Will this ever round out or am i boned?

From sitting? Just drive 'em around a bit and get them hot, they should go back to round. It might take some seriously hard driving though.

Yeah from sitting... 2-3 years of sitting. Tires are still soft and pliable, no cracking or rot, though. They're still seriously grippy.
I've got about 50 miles on them so far, and they seemed to be a little better this morning, but i'm unsure if they're actually better, or if i'm just getting used to it.
If you could set up two skidpads in a figure-8 and drive around that until the tires get melty (and then cruise on the highway until they cool) that should fix it.

What about a couple rolling 2-3rd gear burnouts, then swap tires front to back?
That could work too.
I edited above, you should cruise around for a while afterwards to help them round out, the faster the better.
I think it depends on the tire.
My Crown Vic sat most of it's life in a garage down in Florida. You couldn't tell the tires were flat spotted until you got over 50 mph. After I drove it from FL to IL, I was exhausted from having my kidneys rattled around, so I bought a new set.
They're 245/45-16 RS2s that unfortunately sat on my Celica for 2.5 years. I think only two of them are having any issues, and those were the ones that had a slow leak (from wheels) on the back of the Celica.
The other wildcard is that they were mounted and balanced by Walmart, so.....
Good luck getting them off then. Might want to make sure they're full of air and not mashed potatoes or something.
My Saturn sat on the dealer lot for over a year, and developed flat spots in the tires. They evened out, but after about 20,000 miles, I started having tires delaminate. 3 of them had nice bulges in the tread by the time they had hit 35,000 miles. I got tired of having used tires on a new car, so I bought a new set. I don't know how far that last tire would have made it, but I'd imagine not far.
Now, these tires never did have belts sticking out anywhere, just bulges in the tread. I couldn't even feel it when I was driving.
My truck sat on fairly new Uniroyal Tiger Paw tires for 3-4 years once. They were never the same once I got it back on the road.

LOL! They mounted and balanced them yesterday. They were taken off the Celica wheels and put on my refinished FD RX7 wheels, then crammed under the MX6. (With lots of "persuasion" in the form of a sledgehammer and a baseball bat.)
the kumho ecsta MX's i had on my RSX apparently weren't supposed to be used in weather under 45 degrees F, something about being too cold and they wouldn't have any grip. being parked outside, in austin, in the winter it got plenty cold. they would vibrate for a little while once i got on the highway, and once they warmed up in a couple miles, they got worked out. loved those tires, they were so much better than the crap michelin all seasons that came on it, and they were better (or at least no worse) in the cold and rain than the michelins too.
Every set of rs2s i've had did that same thing, i'm just a little worried that these are beyond saving. The compound is still soft, no cracks or rot, and theyre still gripping like crazy, just how i remember them. Just with lots of vibrations.
If i dont see an improvement in the next week over ~500 miles, i'll have the balance re-checked.
I suppose i owe you all some pictures... Car looks absolutely ridiculous.
