But, with a bad combo meter the car still starts and drives. I've driven one for weeks with no combo meter. You have no dashboard screen like the meters of Speedo, odo and fuel gauge but the car will go down the road just fine, just not sure how fast, how far, or how long until you run out of gas.
I have a no start situation.
All this effort is to avoid the hundreds of dollars the dealership would want to replace a key from zero. I'm not even sure what the dealer or a locksmith charges. Maybe I should inquire.
Perhaps try the " key pairing " (or whatever it's called ) procedure again?
Check Every single fuse in the entire car again. Including the (5amp) one in the back by the battery
Does the OBDII port have power? Connect to it with TechStream and diagnose that way.
John, did you get any more time devoted to sorting this out and getting it to a "Ready" state yet?
Shoot me a text if you need anything else.
I have had no time over the holidays to inquire any further with this. Maybe Monday the 1st I'll try.
I think I need to try if TechStream will speak to the car. Also, I need to learn more as to if my copy of TechStream really works.
In reply to John Welsh :
Ignore the copy you already have and use the video tutorial I texted you. Set it up using his process exactly and the links he posted. It 100% works, 100% of the time.
Edit: here's a link to the tutorial:
