I dropped off a cut up shell of a NA this morning at the scrapper and was quite surprised by the price of scrap.. The part I dropped off was ~350-400 lbs, because they couldn't take the windshield & frame.

Any guesses?

I am guessing $0.25 a lb so $100

And the correct answer is: $6.35.. Nohome is closest to the current scrap price.

The last hulk I hauled to the scrapper was 2.5 cents per pound.

Our neighbor hauled out our old f150 to scrap but it he is letting it sit until scrap goes up.

Yeah, if I knew it was only going to be that much, I wouldn't have wasted the 3 sawzall blades that I bent cutting it up. I would have just put it on craigslist for free and someone would have probably dragged it away.

That's brutal. I haven't seen the impact of the low scrap prices on bottom-of-the-barrel car prices here, but I have seen that the pick n pull yard is holding onto a lot more 'drivers' than they used to when scrap was hot.

We used to have at least a half dozen scrap collectors patrolling our shop each week. Now we have one guy we call when our bin gets full and he barely pays anything for it. The "patrollers" have disappeared completely.

I can't even get a scrap guy to show up for a free NB shell.
