Most of Snap On is still USA, but not all.....
FWIW, Proto makes some fine wrenches.

Most of the hand tools and specialty tools are made in the USA. The majority of the diagnostics stuff is assembled and tested in USA.
On a related note, I've got some really old (1940s, I believe) ratchets that I inherited from my grandfather, who worked in a machine shop. Do they sell refresh/rebuild kits for these? I'd have to check, but I believe one is a Snap-on and one is a Cornwell.
Try stripping them down, cleaning, and packing in fresh grease first. That will usually take it form sloppy and terrible to sorta sloppy and perfectly useable.
Armstrong was bought out by Danaher. They used to make the tools (including Craftsman) about 3 miles from me, but they closed the plant down a couple years ago and moved production to their plant in Springdale, AR. I went to the auction. They did say that they kept virtually all the jobs and they were mainly consolidating plants.

There is a guy at the Cornwell plant that has a hoard of old rebuild kits. Send me the part number and I'll see what I can do.
I inherited an Indestro 3/8 ratchet from my dad and even with all the snap on, Cornwell, and craftsman stuff he had it was his go to ratchet every time. It also makes me smile every time I grab it.
I noticed some of my wrenches from the homedepo were US made Kobalt it says on them maybe it was just a misprint at the wrench factory or something tho, sounds kinda fishy. Big box stores are supposed to sell HF tools with different branding for 3 times as much.... Must be a fluke

I agree, the Indestro is perfect as is and is the best of all my ratchets (which, granted, are not that great). The Fairmount needs work though, it's pretty loose. Hopefully new grease will improve it.
