it's a shame there are not more videos from the pre-group B cars.. back when the rear wheel drive sports cars were the rally champs.. then I would bet you would see a LOT of heavy drifting

I did a search of "E30 Rally" on Youtube and was pleasantly rewarded. Both my eyes and my ears enjoyed it!

at the 2:15 mark....4 wheel lockup, 180* drift, laying down two massive tracks from the rear wheels...

I love the Vatanen clip above^^. Can't help but watch that one with a big smile on my face each time, and then the "dear god" from the Navigator when he gets it a bit loose about 1/2 way through

70s rallying

turn the sound off.. the music does not add to it.. but this is the kind of rallying I am talking about. Imagin the big ones the Stratos driver has for racing on snow/ice

Yeah he did... just barely brushed it, caused the puncture. What I can't get over is how little that puncture slowed him down.

I think the "Dear God" is for what the navigator was pretty sure they were GOING TO hit before the driver sorted it out and shot through that gate.

It IS amazing and yeah.. some stages are more fun than others. The fast narrow stuff I don't like so much. Tight twisty downhill, yeah baby....
