On the show's set, when Jeremy sits down with someone after their lap in a boring car; what is that green vinyl couch out of?
Mrs. 914 hates the two person seat upstairs in front of the computer and thinks I should replace it with one like that.
What is it? Green, vinyl, center arm rest, wide head rests.
Thanx, Dan
Two person seat... in front of the computer?
Surfing the GRM forums in tandem brings the family closer together.
I recall reading somewhere the couch and chair are the leather seats out of a Jaguar XK sedan, but you'd have to confirm that
I just took a photo of the offending couch but for some reason can't upload it.
No two-person surfing here, our waves are too different. Maybe I'll hit the junk yards once it warms up.
Dan
I think it's out of a Rolls, currently. I know they've had regular sofas, and other car seats coverted. They did have some out of a Opel Senator B, or the Vauxhall equivalent according to one source.
In reply to 914Driver:
There has to be some great conversion van seating out there !
I say you go junkyard the seat out of an e28 or e30 lol (if you can find one in good condition)
I really liked mine
I used the S10 bench to make a decent seat, its pretty comfy too
The December 2010 Top Gear magazine reports that the bench seat on the TG: USA set is the second row bench from a Jeep Grand Wagoneer. I forgot what the single seat was from. The UK version is likely some old Vauxhall or BMC product (think 70's). Any bench would work.
As an aside, I have the mint (in more than 1 way) green vinyl bench from my Hornet still...
the third row seat from a mid 90's Suburban is pretty comfy- especially if it's leather.
Astro van third row seats are also pretty good, as well.
