Can any one confirm that Torque reports on the correct O2 sensors. I am only running 1 sensor and might have mis wired it. Torque is reporting on 1 sensor, OS  1X2, which I would assume would ne the down stream sensor, meaning my custom wiring extension done last night was not needed. 8o(   That means putting back the connector I shopped off. I use the sort pig tail (assumed it was the upstream (front) sensor) from the harness and modified the extension cable from the longer pig tail to connect to the short one to make the run to the sensor. According to my schematics should be the right pig tail.

Next, previously I posted a message about stalling when coming to a stop.  With the torque app, I can get a better sense of the temp now, and at 80 deg C, it bucks for 10-20 seconds and quits. hard to restart, more bucking and quitting. Let it cool 10 degress and it fires up, idles smoothing, then it hits 80 and repeats the bucking and stalling.

I think the previous stalling at a stop conclusion as I was afraid to drive to far and it was just a red hearing as I happened to hit temp when getting close to home and the last stop before the driveway.

Thoughts on the stalling at operating temp ?

More.... weirdness... when I do a graph display for fuel trim, it is 1 X 1 that is responding.
So maybe I did get it wired right.
Edit: the dial that was 1 X2 stopped responding and now 1 X1 is responding in kind with the fuel trim.

When the temp hits 80, the STFT1 starts climbing from below 5, hits 20, the sputtering starts, it stalls and peaks at 25.

Edit: the O2 sensor voltage drops to what looks like less than 0 on the small graph on Torque when the temp hits 80, guessing the line and the graph are slightly out of sink and its actually 0.1. If I am reading things right, this is saying really lean. Before gets to 80 degrees, it bounces between 0.1 and 0.9 volts. This looks like its right. So when it gets out of cold start mode??? it dies.

Just figuring out all I can do with the torque app, will continue to post info as I find it. doing a 10 minute cool down so I can fire it back up and see what some of the other graphs do.

Edit again: approaching 90 and still running. I really did not do anything I did unplug and repluged the o2 sensor in when it was running to see what the graph would do. as I was typing it hit 91 and repeated the coughing and died.

And another update....
Got brave and took ot for a bit longer drive about 5 miles. Up to 110 degrees C no stalling. Fixed itself, right ? Nope. First stall my fault, leaving a 4 way stop, hard to fire back up, but it did. About a mile later preparing to turn off and head back, slowing down, push in the clutch, stumble, dead. Started back up, not as bad as the earlier in the day 80 degree restart tries, or the pulling away from the 4 way. OK, heading back, coming back up to the 4 way, down shift to third, push in the clutch, stumble, dead, popped it in second dropped the clutch, it started, making the stop, dead again. Restart, not to bad, but not as easy as it should be. In to the drive way and in the garage and its idles fine for 3 to 4 minutes before I shut it off. No codes presant. I was expecting at minimum the following, speed sensor circuit, downstream O2, and start a circuit since I have none of those in place. I'm guessing I didn't drive far enough to set any codes.

2 side notes.
The EJ decided it wants to stay and started marking its spots today. Not sure where the oil is coming from but it looks like the back of the pan or maybe a rear main seal...

135 HP is a 2000 lb car, even when backed by a VW 4 speed, and only 50% throttle opening, is a lot quicker than I thought.

This morning test run was better. No stalling due to me or for what ever the unknown reason is/was. Maybe the ECU just needed more time to re-learn as it was un-powered for about 1.5 years, and the only running it had done was idling in the garage.

I was able to get some codes after todays 20+ minute drive covering about 12 miles. All are expected codes

P0500 - speed sensor which I an mot using.

P0141 - rear O2 Sensor, also not installed

P1100 - Starter Switch Circuit, I am using the VW starter switch and starter, not the Subie

P1702 - Auto Trans Diagnosis Input Signal Circuit - Auto trans and trans controller are gone, its the VW 4 speed.

All that said, looks like I am all set (fingers crossed) other than the new issues mentioned in the previous post.

Thanks for reading.
