I need torque specs for the oil pan and connecting rod caps. Changing rod bearings in one tonight in an attempt to eliminate a light rod knock.
I would check the cobalt boards, but they're no better than forteforums.

I've got a .pdf of the 2006 HHR service manual, for the 2.2L L61 connecting rod bolts it says first pass 18 lb/ft, final pass 100 degrees. For the oil pan to block bolts it's 18 lb/ft. Can't remember where I got the manual from, but if i figure out how to post here i will.
Man, Bobzilla's fast!
Try the HHR forums, they are mostly older folks so they tend to be more sensible..

redlineforums is by and far better than the balt community.
So, its 18ft lbs for the first time, then turning it 100 degrees off the torque wrench?
I am not pulling mains at all.
That's what the manual says, probably need an angle gauge or something to eyball the 100 degrees.. I did rings on a B21 Honda motor a few months back, never touched the mains either (didn't want to do the rings)
Pick up one of these, didn't know they were so cheap Torque angle gauge

I doubt I'll find a cheap one of those locally.......I think I'll just eyeball it. This confirms my suspicions, GM went mental.
GM has been mental for quite some time, at least they didn't put the distributor underneath the water pump on this engine. Or spec a pot-metal heater hose coupling that dissolves quicker than the hose it's connected to. Or the wonderful PLASTIC fuel lines on my 1996 Bonneville.. Rant off..
