Honestly, they say it's the best thing they've done to their XJ because they've never had their drums adjusted correctly.

Mine are adjusted correctly, but they're at the end of their life and i just find drums a hassle. I don't know enough about them to feel comfy working on them, and i never will.

I did read up on the swap for a few hours... seems to be easier if you have the Chrysler 8.25 rear end. I don't have that, and i'm really not interested in swapping.

Ballpark it was going to run me about $300-$350 with the brake hardware i wanted. The G2 rear conversion can be had for $500 or under, and it's Stoptech stuff from what i understand.

Yeah I have to ID my rear end also, I've found the diagram, just haven't done it as it's not streetworthy at the moment.

And I know exactly jackE36 M3 about drums apart from the components and operation, and don't want to know. The only thing I know is that my suspension is shot, and the braking dive is severe enough for the drums to lock my bald rear tires. That'll all change when Project:Cream Puff gets off the ground... I hope. Fingers crossed!

Anyway, keep us updated on your progress, it's definitely going to be an interesting read, for me at least.

I'll probably start buying things in the next month or so... gotta make sure all the parts for the race car are taken care of first. Think i only have some hoses and EMS left on that. FINALLY.

Oh... and the Jeep will get a bitchin' stereo, too.
