I'm 64. In another ten years I might consider that. I predict Toyota's sales aren't going to increase much .It wouldn't be the first time they missed their demographic target (see Scion) Overdone styling and no manual transmission will keep me away until I'm suffering from bad hips and have no choice about operating a clutch. This rant also applies to the other cute-utes in the market, too.
Remember when the 918 and LaFerrari and P1 came out and they had to create a new term to describe them? Supercar wasn't enough, they moved into the realm of Hypercars. I think the Japanese are moving away from plain Ugly into Hyper-Ugly cars. Hyugly? Extrugly? We need a new term...GRM writing team, get on that.

"Bugly" works in 2 ways. First, because they all look like some anime alien bug, and also because it's berkin' ugly

The term you are looking for is Fugly. As in berkeleying ugly.
But this isn't fugly. It's just trying too hard...Like a 65 year old that gets tatoos and goes to the gym like crazy to try and get young chicks. It's sorta sad really
Over-styled, auto transmission, huge spoiler, driven by old people going 55 in left lane... Corvette?
The front doesn't look too bad, but I don't care for the rest of it. It's not nearly as bad as the new Prius, and I saw a Mirai out here in Cali the other day....what a hideous car. Japanese styling in general seems to be struggling these days, with the notable exception of Mazda.
I really don't understand these things though. The reason (I thought, at least) to buy a small SUV was to get something more maneuverable than a big SUV but still with more interior space than a car. That looks like it would barely have more space inside than any of the small hatchbacks out there, or even an average Corolla for that matter.
In reply to gearheadE30:
A lot of people dislike being low to the ground and feel unsafe in a car, so being in a "tall, safe SUV" makes them feel better
This comes off a lot like the Toyota iM: A passably decent looking small hatch type thing that could be of some interest to enthusiasts if it wasn't saddled with such an uninteresting drivetrain.
It's a lot better looking to me than the Juke, but if Toyota wants to attract younger buyers, they need to stop their Department of Corporate Blandness from meddling with the driving dynamics. Red metallic looks won't help if the driving experience is pure beige.
