Hey,

My '08 Rolla is showing its age. 124K. Overall in good condition.

Here is the problem:

Airbag warning light on Instrument panel stays on.

IP light stays on. Airbag light on center console: Not on.

First warning code: B1660: Airbag on/off indicator fail.
Second warning code: B1811: Open circuit driver side squib circuit.

I am a pretty capable DIY'er, but this does not seem like something I want to mess with.

Any thoughts out there?

Thx
Rog

From what I can see online, Corollas from 2003-2013 are affected by the Gigantic Takata Airbag Recall of Doom.  If your car still has those shrapnel packs, I suggest you call your nearest dealer, ask to have it towed in, and see if they can give you a loaner while they make things right.

Even if it's not the GTARoD but something else, I figure it's still an explosive device, so no, I wouldn't mess with it either.

Check the under seat wiring connector. My .azdas sometimes need it reseated. Causes an airbag warning. Really tight ziptie seems to be the permanent solution on the passengers side seat....
