We replaced our 2005 ody with a 2010 ody. Kept the snow tires and wheels. One problem - the new van has TPMS and the old one didn't.

Do I need to add TPMS to the snow wheels/tires? I think if they are valve stem type it wouldn't be hard to break the beads on the snows, pop the module in and reset the bead (I would mark the tires so I don't rotate them and then need to rebalance). But what modules do I need to look for?

I know next to nothing about TPMS except conceptually what it does and how some of the variations work.

As long as you can deal with the light on the dash I would not worry about it.

If you break the bead and add it they will need reballanced, the sensors are not light, also I would just deal with the light.

So all im likely to get is a light?

if so then that seems like no big deal.

Correct, just a light.

Even if you put the TPMS sensors in the winter wheels there is a good chance you will be playing the light game all winter.

You’ll most likely have to get the sensors reprogrammed when you put your summer tires back on

if that makes sense

When the TPMS light is on, VSA can not be disabled.
