I think you may have missed the "grassroots" and "motorsports" part of this forum name.
hellaflush and canibeat are neither grassroots nor motorsports......
I have been looking into e36's too, but they lack the soul and character I like in the e30. The height in a miata with a roll bar is not at all a problem for me since i'm only 5'4''.
Also not too interested in "hellalfush" and "stanced" looks. Just not my cup of tea.
I will look more into an e36
As to prices and availability, NA 1.8 miatas are really hard to find in my area, e30's are pretty plentiful in good shape and cheaper than 1.8 NA miatas, e36's are about the same price as e30's but a bit better condition, and less miles.
I do think at the end of the day i'll just drive all 3 and see what happens, and what I can find at a good price

Fyi i didnt use "hellaflush" or canibeat to explain what the cars stance was. I wouldnt say wow that fitment is perfect..its hellaflush. I was refering to the websites/ organizations that specialize in the coverage of automotive stance, they organize car shows also with mostly vehicles that have more agressive rim/tire fitments..
yes, I'm well aware of the stance crowd, "bro"....
but true stance follows function. That stuff may be fine if you want a car just so it can sit in a parking lot and have to go 1mph over small speedbumps. As for me....hellaflush and hellaslammed can kiss my e30's black ass....

Obviously i know were im posting, i was using that as a referance to the style of modification and look that i was assuming the thread creator was a fan of. Basically stating from what i have seen in that type of car scene, most people tend to use a body kit on there e30's to improve the look of the vehicle. If thats how u feel, tell the guys from picture thread of women that they missed the same thing because im pretty sure that has nothing to
Do with grassroots motorsports either. No need to be sarcastic bud the arguement has been over
like I said, this isn't StanceWorks or Fatlace. People here are more interested in functional cars. And women. Not hellaflush and lame body kits. You're new, you'll learn ;)
In reply to irish44j:
lulz, two with no pics with one saying it needs bodywork and the one with pics is obviously beat.
Thanks for proving my point.
All this talk about body kits is making me feel nauseous.

Disagree....
I bought mine from a CL post without pics or much information. Went down to check it out, and turned out it was a guy who I used to autocross with, who was only selling it because he just had a kid and was finishing a Z3M track build. He just needed it gone.....fast......so he had it listed for far less than he could have gotten for it.....Just the spares it came with were worth more than I paid for the car itself, and he hadn't even listed them in the CL ad.....
Point being that a crappy CL post means jack. Some people don't know what they have. Some people suck at pictures or descriptions. Some people are about to deploy to afghanistan and need to dump the car fast....or just need quick cash. The ones that look the best in a CL ad usually turn out to be the ones with all the hidden rust and ghetto fixes.....
You never know what you have until you check it out personally. There are a few decent e30s for sale on our local e30 groups, but frankly it's not worth my effort to cross-link them since the OP is across the country......
Seriously though, i dont want to get on any ones bad side from this thread :)
just don't try to justify hellaflush, stance, JDM camber, chrome dubs, APC kits, or sideways Monster Energy flatbrims, and you'll be fine
So was that your last word, or are there more? Can you resist explaining the performance roots of hellaflush and how there are body kits with significant aero advantages? Can you explain canards?
I own both a 1990 miata and a 1987 325is ... I like both. They are both cheap to maintain, they handle quite well once set-up and are fun little cars. I would look for both and buy whichever pops up first and its the best deal.
I used the miata for HPDEs with my brother, but just bought a '97 M3. Its still not too expensive to maintain and like someone mentioned not that expensive to purchase. I picked mine up in December of last year for $5k ... have not taken it to the track yet.

You know what, i just re-read all my post and besides my rant when i got angry i said NOTHING wrong, i gave my opinion as everyone else did. Geez whats wrong about talking about rim fitment and body kits? So what?! Is it a crime to talk about that stuff just because this is the grassroots forum, its like most of you guys are pissed at me because i said the stock e30 bumpers are ugly.. They are ugly! So what? Everything i said besides my first opinion on "cost" and such was keyword "if" IF He was into that sort of thing hes going to want to purchase a body kit! Its a true fact! Go to hellaflush.com go to canibeat.com go to stancenation. Everyone has new bumpers and sideskirts on their e30 and some even have flares! Not everyone is into racing and some are in it just for looks. And when it comes to that they are using keyword "body kits" which is a bumper, sideskirts, a rear bumper. Thats a fact! Thats what i was talking about, my mistake if its such a crime to talk about rim fitment and body kits at a motorsport forum. I just dont get why people can be a smartass to me but when i say something im the bad guy. Drop it dude, i wont talk about body kits and rim fitment anymore because people might not like me OH NOES! I tried to appologize and end it already. This remind me of the time on clubroadster where i got flamed for talking about putting a NA sr20ve engine in a miata, i got talked to like i was a peice of E36 M3 and a failure. Like it was a crime to not turbo my miata! Only difference is i talked about hellaflush.com, body kits and stance on a motorsport forum.
You seem confused. This is exactly where you discuss putting NA sr20ve in a miata or how to cook crawfish puked up by birds with an aircooled Porsche or what to do when you can afford your house but don't want to anymore. Got that?
Now flush that other [unicorn slur] about rimz and stances that-a-way ----------------------------------->
dude has gotta be trolling y'all. Gotta be. No one seriously uses that many references to herrafrush/stance etc and is actually serious. Right?
Aha yea ya got me.. Im a troll

I already said that, but got a message from another member, that no, he is in fact not trolling.
Which makes me a sad panda.

Sadly, I had already figured that might be the case. My hope for humanities future had me hoping against all odds that it might just be someone screwing with us.
Unfortunately, my theory that we are living the movie Idiocracy has been, once again, reinforced.

Don't worry. You are all just characters living in a dream I'm having and when I wake, this nightmare will be all over.
Yea im a failure ahh man.. Its ok ill talk about that rims and stuff somewhere else... I better not talk about engine performance and lap times though.. Ohh no no no that would make me a troll and a failure

That I've already hacked up and "ruined." Did you know that the Erebuni bumper has functional brake ducts and intercooler ducting?
