Thanks. I am actually looking for a car prep checklist. You know, bleed brakes, check oil, etc. I just think having a written list that I can physically check off will make me more comfortable and more thorough
Keeping mind I have dedicated track cars.
I simply take the tech sheet and go through the list.
The main things I do in the following order.
1. Lug nuts
2. Brake Fluid (any flush or bleed would have been done well before the event as part of the maintenance)
3. Tire pressure
4. Oil level
5. Coolant level
6. Fan belt
7. Clutch reservoir
Post event I check all of the above and inspect the brake pads, if I've got the brakes hot I will flush the system. In addition to that I look for items that may be working their way loose.
I have maintenance intervals for all the other stuff. Note I keep a maintenance log for both cars.

Make a spreadsheet in excel or google sheets, print it out, laminate it, get a dry erase marker, and put it in a binder or on your garage wall to go through for each track day to run through. I do this for my champcar as well, i also have one with part numbers and what year/make/model common parts for our racecar come from. It's super helpful if something breaks at the track and you need to run to an autoparts store for a quick repair.
If you don't bring a tent or other shelter, bring something weatherproof to hold all the junk that you take out of the car when on-track. If that iffy sky you go out under turns into real rain, you won't have any fun reloading the car with a bunch of squishy stuff once your session is over.
But maybe I shouldn't speak for you... *I* didn't enjoy that.
