Looks like Hard Dog is on a 4 week wait list. I'd like to get a track day in a couple weeks to shake down my new purchase but I'm coming up with nothing. Locally I don't see anyone selling used. Willing to travel if needed within reason to get a used one. Are there any other roll bars that typically have some ready to ship that are safe and meets SCCA requirements? I'm located in NW Arkansas, help a brother out?

Unfortunately these words are on the page. I'll call to confirm though.

"Shipping note: These bars will be drop-shipped from the manufacturer. These bars are usually kept in stock. If not, depending on where the bars are in the production process, it could take approximately 2-6 weeks for delivery. Since they're drop-shipped, the tracking number process isn't automated and could be delayed."

You can try Blackbird Fabworx, but be prepared to grab your ankles on the shipping costs from CA.

Waiting on a call back from Blackbird. FM confirmed none in stock at the moment and 4-5 weeks out.

Nobody stocks roll bars because they're really expensive to ship. Everybody drop-ships from the manufacturer. The only way one ends up at a vendor's warehouse is by accident. So I'd be looking for used in your area. Maybe hit up a Spec Miata shop, you can use the rear half of a cage out of a retired racer.

A word of warning - Hard Dog prices are going up by 10% at the end of the month due to steel costs. I'd get the order in now if you're planning to buy a new one.

One thought - part of the lag in Hard Dog production is the powdercoat. Might be worth calling Tom up and asking if you can get one in bare steel. Then you can paint it.

Well damn.  I'd let you borrow mine but I'm in FL.

Hmmm. May be worth a go.

If you have a full interior and stock seats it's going to be hard to adapt any kind of racing cage for the job.  If you're willing to pull out carpet and consider going to a race bucket and six point harness, the world is your oyster.

IME Blackbird makes them to order. I've bought a couple of rollbars from Moti and it was always "order and we'll put them on the schedule to build".

I appreciate the offer. Hoping something local will pop up.

Found this one somewhat local to me. It's welded in and doesn't appear to be any of the common 4 points I've see so far. Possibly cut it out and weld new plates? Seems like a lot of effort so it would need to be cheap. Also not sure if the top will fit, soft or hard.

That looks a bit tall for the softtop, but that might be the perspective. Also doesn't seem to be tied into the B-pillar.

I'd want to see some additional photos how it fits around the seats.

Just a thought or 2 from a uy who knows nanimonai about Miata(i)s.

I'm in the outskirts of nowhere and have seen numerous Miata(i)s with roll-bars in wrecking yards.

or

Make one, they look to be rather simple.

II have one on a car I'm about to salvage but not sure I want to ship it. If you are anywhere close to colorado, more than welcome to it for a very small fee but it'd have to bee this weekend.

Unless I can arrange a GRM relay from Colorado to Topeka it's probably not in the cards. Whereabouts in Colorado? Also any pics?

Colorado Springs. It's a Hard Dog M1 with the single diagonal and harness bar. If you are serious, I can set it aside and put it in my storage unit but I will not be back for a couple months after April 17th. Let me know this weekend as the car goes bubye monday. Really not even looking for much for it. Would rather it lives on with another GRMer.

Definitely interested. Gotta see if I can get a relay going with forum members otherwise it's gotta be shipped.

I messaged you through the contact information on the forum. If you don't get it, message me at dh318x@GEEmail . com

I'll buy it and sort out getting it picked up whether flying over there or having a buddy pick it up.

That car looks familiar!  Confused as to the salvage?  You're giving the car to a junkyard?

yeah. Engine put a piston through the head and I'm out of time to deal with it so stripped it down of all of the good stuff and will find a new shell in Omaha to build up.

Just responded back. I will toss in the LRB panels too that are pre-formed to fit around the rollbar.  https://lrbspeed.com/product/na-miata-fuel-pump-fill-hose-covers/

Able to greyhound or amtrack ship it? Don't know pricing or if you can insure it from being lost but i's not like they'd be able to hurt it.

Unless someone else in the area can get it to YRC and strap to a pallet I'll be flying over there Tuesday or Wednesday and driving back.

Oh man!  With all the time you have in it too.  It was such a low mileage, clean car.  It ruin the trick head?  Didn't want to drop another motor in it?
