I got a really interesting trade offer for a 08 Cayenne S. It's intriguing because it has all the options including the hydraulic sway bars and heated steering wheel and is owned by a Porsche tech who had done all of the services. I could make it a Transsyberia clone.
What say the hive?
Do you want to own another Porsche?
Absomotherberkeleyinglutely!
Yes, been wanting to build one myself

Uh, yes? My Porsche's have all been fantastic to drive and pretty painless to own.

Why not? If you change your mind it likely won't be as hard to sell.
Also I want to do exactly that. I'll look for the build thread
I'm hesitant of the statement "owned by a Porsche tech." Do you know this guy from before the transaction? Shouldn't this tech know the value of a Cayenne? I'll admit that I do not know the value. Does the trade value seem to line up and not heavily one-sided?
My concern is that the Cayenne needs something that even the tech wants to avoid.

You put it into words better than I could have. But I'm always suspcious when someone wants to trade their vehicle for something other than money.
It highlights that you like to shoot yourself in the foot, but don't care which foot
Also, yes.
Yes. And I don't like Porsches.

I did not know the guy, but he is legitimately a Porsche tech at a specialist shop. The values are more or less straight across and the reason he wants to trade is he has a 70 mile commute and the A4 is going to get 2.5x better gas mileage. Both cars have a "major" service (timing chain for the Audi, coolant pipes for the Porsche) and both have been completed with paperwork.
As they say in Beaverton , just do it !
Yeah, what everyone else said. Cayman S > A4

Just get ready for large repair bills for things you can't fix yourself. I'd make sure the motor is good, those V8's like to score the cylinder bores.
08 is after the rework they did on the chassis in 07. Its one of the good ones.

Lol. I am sure the Audi has the OP desensitized to that......
OP,
You know that saying "I wouldnt berkeley that with your d1ck"? I would totally trade your Audi for a Cheyenne.
I mean I do already have a 986 S Boxster, and an Audi S4, so big repair bills are normal...
Porsche smorsche. Javelin isn’t scared of anything.
I say do it. That’s way more car than the Audi and will be easier to sell to some wealthy person than the plebeian by comparison Audi. Even if(!?) it’s a money pit.

Aw E36 M3, I'm dumb. At least the milage difference makes sense now. Also, I'd like to change my answer
As a multiple Porsche owner...
