I see lots of talk of trailers, but never of wiring.
As many know I tow a boat which has it's own issues. It is a wide and tall payload, but is open and skinny at the bottom (Where the keel is) and I want to add more lights than the two stop/turn/brake and side markers.
One of things I want to do is add a board that will allow me to run aux turn/brake/running and the clearance lights. What I am trying to figure out is how to get a single centre mounted brake light. All the diagrams I have seen online seem to show the brake/turn/running lights coupled. There is no way to run a separate brake circuit to run just a high mounted brake light.
Any ideas?
My Disco is wired for 7 pole but I am currently running a 4 pole plug
My best guess for a brake light w/o blinker, you'd have to run a wire from the fuze box. Anything else would interfere with turn signals on the trailer.
that is kind of what I expected. I do not want to alter the wiring on my Disco.. so I will just add more lights to the aux bar

thankyou! Just what I wanted to see
For a European car it might be much easier since the European trailer wiring standard has amber turn signals and a dedicated brake light circuit. You could check in the rear of the Disco for the next plug in the harness back from the trailer plug and it will probably have a wire already set up for what you need.
That or get one of the sealed led units with the three marker lights that fills in the space between them with brake lights. Sure one side or the other will be flashing if you turn signal, but the other will be solid as you brake and look like it's supposed to be that way.
