In my search for a new DD to replace the Saturn, I found a Mazda5 that checks all my boxes, but it's listed on some website I've never heard of, tred.com, here's the car: 10 Mazda5.
I gather it's a site/service for private parties to sell their car where the website sends somebody to do all of the work. Anybody ever heard of it or used it before?
FYI if anybody ever searches for this, Tred.com is a total scam. Do not ever under any circumstance buy anything listed by them.
Mind telling us how the scam went in case they change their name/website?

Their business model is they retail privately-owned used cars like a dealership would. SO you sign up to sell with them and they come out and do your photos, take the car on test drives with prospective buyers, and list it on every car site known to man. The owner is the only person that can negotiate the price, once they agree then Tred will do the paperwork and delivery and collect payment/issue payment.
The rub is that the cars are not dealer prepped at all, including no safety inspection (which is illegal in the state they operate in) and are in fact, still being used as daily transportation. So if you make an offer on a car, and the owner happens to whack a curb with it before you get it, tough cookies. They also pile on all of the dealer fees, including the maximum allowed by law "document fee", temporary plates and registration (despite the fact that in this state the plates stay with the car), and a bogus sales tax based on their company HQ address (9.9%, highest in the state) instead of where the car is physically located (what is required by law). If you want the car more than a mile from the seller's residence, it's $199. If you want it run through a car wash and a tank of gas? $199. How about the required by law for dealer's safety inspection? $199.
I don't know if I'd call that a scam, but I'd certainly call it "the worst of both worlds" of buying from a private seller vs. a dealer.

I'm marking your posts as spam, deleting them, and deactivating your account. At best those posts are deceptive... since a registration check implies that you are a 'digital marketing director' for the aforementioned site... and not a private seller that has used the service, as your posts implied.
If you feel this is in error, and you would like to sign up for a paid advertising account, I suggest you email the site owners directly.
