Hey guys look at this eBay auction. Beside it being a sweet car,yet out of my price range, look at the 15th pic down of the engine bay. Something is up because it looks like a RHD car in that pic. It is probably just a mirror image, but when I was looking at it the pics was really messing with my head.

yeah, look at the pic right after it. in 15 the radiator is on one side and in 16 it's on the other, but in both the air cleaner is in the near side of the engine compartment. somebody clicked on "mirror" before they saved the pic.
Yeah, the writing on the coil is mirrored too.
Remember, you will have to smog that, probably not going to happen with that carb on there.
Mass. doesn't smog cars older than 1998 anymore.
96 I think RexSeven. I can't afford the RX-3 anyway unless I hit the lotto.
your eyes were tricked by the complete awesomeness of that car!

I was in getting the Porsche inspection yesterday and was having just this discussion.
In MA it is 1995 and up gets plugged in to the computer and the brain downloaded looking for emission fault codes. There is no actual sniff test anymore for any car in MA. 1995 was the first year that OBD2 was used universally in cars. Another "New" item on the inspection list is that your SRS/airbag light has to come on and then turn off when the key is turned on (motor not started). If it does not do this it is an automatic fail (you all may remember my rant a while back about the one year only SRS sensors in the 94 mustang that are HARD WIRED to the SRS computer that are no NOT available.) But I digress
The interesting thing is that my 94 Mustang with the V6 is an OBD2 car and yet it just gets safety.

really? i thought 96 was the first year that all cars had to be obd2?
I am 99% sure that cars in MA get an OBDII scan for emissions testing purposes only if it is 96 or new. I was told OBDII was universal in 96,so that is where MA cut the test period off at. So if you have a 95 or older car it gets only a safety, and visual inspection. Could be wrong though. I know my three classic J-tins get a sticker in about 5 minutes, and are only safety inspected.
