You know we were carrying this live on the site and our Facebook, right?
The Nurburgring people are very happy with us at the moment. They're letting us host streams of lots of the races going on there for the rest of the season. Cool stuff.
There's more tomorrow. Watch them live on our Facebook page or here:

Be great to have those at one of the smaller Nascar ovals , at the Ring they are too spread out .
And we need a delivery van class , maybe sponsored by Fed Ex or UPS, full size delivery box vans :)

I know now. I didn't notice the picture on the right side of the screen until you mentioned it.

There was a series in the 80s that ran ovals. They eventually stopped because they tore the hell out of the tracks. One year we went to watch them at Pocono and a truck punched through the old steel wall.
Cool , but I could see how they could do damage if not set up for them,
I wonder how the Euro tracks keep from being destroyed ?
The euro trucks are a bit slower, they’re governed to about 100 mph and the flatter courses with shorter straights help keep speeds down where the oval track trucks were hitting 150 mph at biggest tracks like Atlanta. One year I’d like to go to their event at LeMans. They have a weekend of racing and an enormous truck show.
That asphalt oval business with these back in the '80s was crazy! Some of the crashes were just brutal. I can see why they keep it to road courses now.
They tried to revive the oval track stuff about 10 or so years ago. 2 cycle GM type engines were banned. It never got off the ground AFAIK.
I read an article once where a race truck builder had some correspondence with Penske (who at the time owned Detroit 60 Series). He laid out some modifications he had done which would take said engine from 500 to 1500 hp. Penske came back with a response that went something like “...are you crazy? You do that and you’ll be lucky to get 50000 miles out of that engine...”. Race builder had his answer. He only wanted 500 miles out of it
