Any decent options down this low?

Well, I saw a '93 4Runner for $950, with 4wd and four doors, apparently running fine. Really caught my interest, a four door truck with 4wd that cheap would be awesome.
Look at GM big wagons. Tow rated to 5000lbs, can cary a 4x8 sheet of plywood like trucks. Available in all types of GM brands so pick your fav. I got a 170K mile one with a new trans/rear end and a 30K mile old motor for 1K. I've seen roadmasters with the LT1 for similar dollars. It's definitely the most truck you can get for 1K... Just not really a truck!
Well, I've been looking for something cheap that'd make a good driver during the winter, and we don't have a truck and have constant problems moving large items. Sometimes we get flooded out around here and we camp and hunt too, so... A truck/jeep would just be handy to have. I wasn't even going to consider getting one until spring, but we've already started getting a little nasty weather in our area.
Anyway, I would like it to be AWD or 4WD and 5-speed with room - something with a large aftermarket/parts supply to draw on. I know that's alot to ask for under 1k, but you guys are all geniuses here.
What about those Bravadas? I'll watch for the two you mentioned.
This VW Quantum kind've appeals to me also. http://eugene.craigslist.org/cto/899956891.html
Bravada's are just AWD blazers if I remember correctly. Can't disengage those front wheels, obviously for better fuel economy.
I paid $800 for my Trooper.
it's been driven cross country on 33's with many hundreds of pounds of my junk in the back, occasionally pulled commuter duty in Phoenix summer rush hour traffic no problem.
fit 34" Swampers BONE STOCK.
4.56 stock r&p moves them just fine & 4lo will get you just about anywhere offroad if you know how to drive. the 2.6 four banger has plenty of grunt and can get 20+mpg on 31's.
great parts interchange between Zu stuff so lots of junkyard upgrades GRM style.
I think this Trooper has your name written on it: http://portland.craigslist.org/clk/cto/915829572.html
Any 1965-1990's American full-size truck can be had for that price. Parts are insanely cheap, aftermarket support is as easy as breathing, and they are solid platforms for towing and hauling.

Isuzus suffer from serious rot. Check one out carefully in the frame area before buying. They are also as slow as tree sap in Vermont.
Quantums are pretty similar to Audi quattros but do have some differences and the parts don't necessarily swap. Quantums are pretty unloved, so they are usually inexpensive.
Thanks for the posts - you're right, that Isuzu has my name written on it, that's exactly what I'm looking for.
Are the Jeeps any good at this price? Those trucks that got posted up would be fun, but that Trooper looks really clean for the money.
Bought a full-size 1990 F150 for $1k. I've seen older, rougher looking ones with less miles going for $1500.
