So early this fall we traded a stock complete 5.0 and $300 for a built 302 with all the accessories and everything to get in and running. Part of the deal was that I held on to the 5.0 until I heard this 302 run and it was healthy. The guy did not give us all the accessories at the outset. We were supposed to go back for them later. I now can't get ahold of him at all and his number has been disconnected. We also don't think he still lives at the same house. So what this boils down to is that I have a 5.0 that isn't really mine and a 302 that isn't really complete. Not the way the deal was supposed to work.
So, i guess the question is: how do I explain this on paper for the build book?
Also, since the deal was for accessories and all, and dude has disappeared, can i rob the needed parts off the 5.0 that isnt really mine anymore to complete the deal in hopes that the guy reappears?

You gave him the $300, correct? That sounds like a $300 302.
What was the price of your 5.0? Was it oringinally in your Challenge car?
The 5.0 actually came and a $400 Lincoln Town Car I bought for the drivetrain. It was included in the budget and parts were recoup the off of it when I crushed it. I kept the 5.0 and the aod for the challenge car then traded the 5.0 and $300 for the bill 302 however the guy disappeared so the trade could not be completed.
It sounds like the guy who disappeared has, by his actions, effectively traded you back the 5.0 he didn't receive in exchange for the accessories YOU didn't receive. That wasn't the deal you planned, but it's the deal you got. As of today your Challenge inventory shows two engines, one (I presume) set of accessories, and a debit of $300. Seems to me you are free to sell the 5.0 "again" (only for real this time), minus whatever accessories you want to keep.

Kind of what i was thinking, but only i didn't think I could sell the same engine twice.
Ordinarily no, if you kept owning it throughout the relevant time, but the way I see your current situation, you did actually sell it the first time even though it never physically left your possession. Then, later, you owned it again, because of the bizarre circumstances, so it's reasonable to sell it again.
That said, however, I'm not a Challenge lawyer, and I didn't even park my Kia at GRM World Headquarters last night, so maybe you need a ruling from a Higher Authority.
I don't think I will sell it again, that just don't feel right. Ill leave it on the stand, get the accessories he didn't give us off it, and hope he shows up again. That way i still have his motor if he ever resurfaces. But ill have what i need to do the challenge. And it seems much more legit in budgeting vs selling it again due to disappeared.
I believe what is necessary is for you to deliver both engines and all ancillary components to Climax, Mi and retrieve a 2004 Renesis engine in trade.

Nope. Not enough power for a 2300lb amc....
Sure there is! Just WAAAAYYYYYYYY up on the revs!
The Car-ma gods will smile upon you for being honest towards the fellow who's MIA.
