So, a friends daughter bought an 08 charger rt for cheap. Shes a stay at home mom, and it got her out of a car payment.
Anyway, it came on 22s or some redonkulous wheels. They hit everywhere, and are garbage. We want to put it back to stockish.
The problem im having is its awd. Those are not common at all here in the south. And i cant find the awd wheels listed separately from the normal wheels.
So, im asking the hive for some help. Cheap and round. Preferred stock alloy wheels, but cop style steelies and hubcaps are cool too. With or without tires, and grm relay able or close enough for a day trip preferred.
Alternatively, is there an interchange wheel? These things are apparently 5x115, not the 5x4.5 i thought. And fwd offset. Figured this out trying mazda6 wheels on it.
5x115 is practically interchangeable with 4.5, GM seems to have done that by design! (The fullsizes with 5x115 hubs and Enkei wheels would contact the lug nuts on the outside of the wheels' tapers, almost as if they were .35mm off)
Im lost, do the normal wheels not work on AWD? I dont see any stagger or difference in geometry

I went to car-part.com and randomly selected a wheel and there are 4 from this in Charlotte. $70 each
But there really are a billion wheel options for these things.
Yes. Offset is radically different on the awd stuff. And car-part.com doesn't offer a sorting option that i can find
Do modern Durango wheels fit. I ask because the current Durango seems like a Charger wagon.
I searched car-part.com via my phone. Specifically, wheels with image.
Rwd will deep dish. AWD specifically will be more like fwd with reverse dish.
Looking at photos for 2008...
Then when I select this wheel, many JYs list it as "awd only "
Also search Chrysler 300s to find more choices. This may require first Google searching up some AWD 300's and making note of what the wheels look like specifically to awd.
Usually I find this site to be accurate https://www.wheel-size.com/size/dodge/charger/2008/
They dont list any high offset AWD stuff. Do you have the specs for the AWD wheels?
Ah yes, as John mentioned, the 300 has specific AWD listings:
More Spotters guide for car-part. I like JYs that list many pictures. Make note that the square trunk badge is the awd call-out.
I also know there is a current steel wheel/hubcap combo popular on awd cop cars here up north.
I searched Charger for 2015 and there is a steel 16 hole option (no picture given) but after choosing it, the JY pictures are...
I think the trunk badge says awd
4 wheels listed here for $75 each.
But, I then search car-part.com to see if that JY has the needed hubcaps listed and they do not. Could be that they just didn't list them. Worth a call to check.
I have a set of 5 18" AWD Pursuit Steelies in near new condition with TPMS up by Chicago that I could let go for $200 for a GRM or Friends and Family.
Could likely get them on their way on the first leg of a GRM Express, if others could bring them the rest of the way.
Selling to you would save me the endless parade of inane questions asking if the wheels will fit their RWD cars even with me stating that they are AWD, and that they don't fit RWD.

At that price I would be hard pressed to say no. Got any clue on what shipping would be

If it's like the refreshed 2016+ LXs, the standard V6 wheels fit fine on the AWD, with a small poke from the different offset.
I've been running cop steelies from a RWD Charger. No issues.
should be easier to find those wheels.

No idea, but I doubt it would be cheap. I would have to box them up, measure, and weigh them. And then check the price for individual vs 2 pair and a single.

I'll volunteer Robbie, if you can get them to him tonight. He is heading this way tomorrow and we can at least start a relay.
Not sure how/when they get further south than Indy at the moment tho.
*edit - I am planning on helping with the Labor Day Escort build if moving these east to Patrick is beneficial.

Probably. There's usually something or someone heading down 77
I'm here so yes let me know if you need me
We are working out shipping right now, and may go that direction. My UPS discount makes these much cheaper than I figured.
