Looking for something responsible (read, sedan), but fun (that's where the twin turbo setup comes into play). Found this, in great shape, no rust that I've found yet, Euro goodies added (bumpers, grill, lights, etc).
My biggest issue it that it has a dual turbo setup, but everything that I can find for them is a single snail setup. So, does anyone know about this sort of setup? It's not a sequential setup, and the owner said that it uses the same turbos as a Turbo Sprint (they must be TINY). I wonder if they aren't undersized, since, IIRC, the Turbo Sprint was a 1.0l, whereas each turbo would have to support 1.75l of displacement.
The next time I see the car (I had no idea it was for sale when I last saw it), I will try to determine what turbo kit it has, as well as what the specs on the turbos themselves are.
There was a twin turbo setup available back in the 1980s, from Cartech I believe, but that's the only one I'm aware of. It sounds like this one is something home brewed. This would be a good question for the e28 turbo experts over on the www.mye28.com forum, in the forced induction folder.
Found out that it's a kit from Pfaff, the only mention that I can find of them is a tuning company in the Toronto area. Not sure if it is the same company, or even remotely related, but that's what I have discovered. The turbos are said to be RH5b's. Can't find much out about them, but I've only done so much research on that. Said to be good for 195 HP each, so in theory, at 1 bar of boost it's good for 390hp. Should be FUN, even at lower boost levels.
