That's very interesting. I'm too lazy to mess with that and I suspect it would cause a whole load of other problems. The guy that posted it never came back to the thread to indicate if he had any issues.

Basically anything past I've already done, you just have to decide if you're willing to risk your warranty for some extra ponies. 

Other than communicating to the mother ship, I don't see what other problems it would cause.

I wouldn't tune the car if you have any possible powertrain concerns.  If you think you'll need the warranty for that, stay stock.  Otherwise go ahead and tune and if the motor/tranny blows just realize you're on your own.

I'm curious if the mothership would go, "Why are we no longer receiving notifications from the car?" And if you happen to take it into the dealership for an oil change or something if that would cause them to investigate.

As for the oil change thing, Subaru offers the first 4 for free.
