Shouldn't the title be Turbo Bug, bug.
It is cool though.
It looked like a water cooled turbo. I wonder if just oil will keep it cool enough.
aaaaaah, carb draw through, DANGER WILL ROBINSON, DANGER!
It's a nicely executed setup for sure, I just don't personally like the thought of a drawthrough, something about hot, compressed fuel air mix outside the combustion chamber just doesn't sit well with me. With all the time, money and effort involved, and running your timing off MS, why not just convert to FI?
But it looks cool as hell...
it's mega jolt... made by brent picassa (i think thats it)... as stand alone EDIS controller... I have an original batch run of his 1st chip and circuit board... he made it back before there was a good EDIS control option on MS as I recall...
he ran it on a turbo mr2 back in the day... using MS to control fuel and the jolt to control spark
My Chevelle has a draw through on it. I haven't run it in years, but detonation was always a problem for me. Probably why he's running the Mega Jolt.
It is not MS it is MJLJr. I run it on my Porsche.
The jump to EFI on a carbed car is a much bigger step than just converting to EDIS based ignition.
I like the packaging. I did not even notice the draw through. My brain was on overload with all the sparkley pipes. However fishing lures usually have the same effect LOL
converting that car to efi would not be hard. The later bugs already had it.. so it should just be a matter of getting the intake manifolds, fitting some sensors, (which he appears to already have for Megajolt) and program the Megasquirt
