I am (slowly) pulling the engine in my new to me 1986 RX-7 Turbo II in preparation for a V8 swap. I'm nearing the end and unhooking the final items. While working tonight, I ran into 2 issues and need help. The picture below shows both items in question. For orientation sake, this picture is taken from the front of the car, looking toward the firewall and is the driver's side of the engine.
The first question is identifying the short hose held on by clamps on either end, just to the northeast of the top spark plug. The flexible line on the right side of the hose leads through the firewall on the driver's side. I loosened the clamp closest to the engine and lot of fluid starting pouring out. I put the clamp back on until I could figure out what it is.
The second question has to do with the (out of focus and in the background) nut and bolt directly to the right of the top spark plug. It appears to be holding a ground wire of some sort, as well as a bracket for some wiring. I put a socket on it and got it loose. However, the bolt and nut are now freely rotating in the hole in the engine, but not backing out like I need. Any idea how I get it out?
Thanks in advance!
The nut has a bolt head on the other end (about 4-6" away). The hose clamp ghetto rig madness goes to one of your aftermarket gauges. It's been a long time since ive messed with a rotary-was the fluid oil or coolant?
That engine needs a pressure wash to remove the evidence of the red spray can explosion that obviously happened nearby!

Ah. That would make sense. I reached back to feel for one but must not have gone far enough back.
The fluid looked like coolant.
The buyer wants to come pick everything up Sunday. Can I talk you into one last wrench session to get it out?
The bolt goes through the transmission bellhousing.
Of course! call me when you read this.

1) Defintely looks like an aftermarket sender. That hose connects to the heater core...
2) It should just be a ground.
Under the oil filter pedestal is the location of the factory oil pressure sender. Looks like a haggard mechanical oil pressure gauge has been installed in its place.
There is a screw on the drivers side front iron to drain the coolant in the block.
What V8 are you replacing the 13BT with?

Thanks for the help. I did not know I needed to drain the coolant in the block.

I have a built LS1/T-56 combo waiting to go in.
